Job Description

PURPOSE
The Supervisor of Claims will provide front line support, training, and day-to-day supervision for the Claims department. The Claims Supervisor is responsible for delegating work assignments and coaching Claims Specialists through review, analysis, investigation, negotiation, and settlement of claims.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Foster an environment of critical thinking and problem solving through employee development
•Create a positive work environment that empowers the team
•Provide oversight of team’s workload, including reviewing with Manager to measure quality and discuss recommended training and development needs
•Communicate updates to policy changes, initiatives, and company news 
•Handle complex claims assigned under little supervision
•Maintain comprehensive knowledge of logistics industry and claims processes
•Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee on-boarding and providing career development opportunities 
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
•Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, management, or related business field 
•3+ years of experience in billing, collections, or related field
•2+ years of leadership experience
•2+ years of logistics experience (LTL, Small pack) preferred

Work Environment:  Job is typically performed in a general office environment or remote.
