Speaking of, we “pull rabbits out of hats” for 10,000 small business owners across the US and Canada who rely on our payroll software to pay their 70,000+ employees and process their taxes. The Role at High-Level:

As our Content & Communications Manager you will be responsible for all content being shared with our community on blog, social, PR, content partnership and other channels. Our goal is simple: attract our perfect-fit customers and partners to the Wagepoint brand in a way that provides value at every click and interaction. 

This role requires obsessive attention to detail, an understanding of our perfect fit customers and providing guidance to a high performing team of content creators and communicators.

As a project and time management wizard, you are able to juggle multiple (and sometimes competing) tasks and projects simultaneously. You can prioritize with ease by aligning with our company, and team goals.

You draw from your experience in creating content that is designed to attract, engage, inform and convert and can share how you have crafted strategies using blog articles, paid content placements, partner content, link backs, strong CTA’s and more. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead a team of awesome internal and external content creators, subject matter experts, and communicators by example, keeping them inspired, engaged, and always learning.
  • Manage, coordinate, communicate and publish the content and communications calendar.
  • Ensure that we send the right content, to the right audience, at the right time without overwhelming them with our dazzling words and videos.
  • Stay current on the latest content and content technology trends overall and the demands for content in our industry.
  • Partner and collaborate with demand gen, creative, sales, and partner teams to deliver communications and content that is on point, informative and provides value at every click.
  • Provide content to guide our prospects and partners through their customer journeys through payroll, time and attendance and human resources.
  • Identify new high-value content opportunities for demand generation.
  • Broker content partnerships with relevant integration partners or influencers in our industry.
  • Leverage our CRM to track content-related campaigns and assets.
  • Stay informed of any significant industry legislative changes in Canadian and US payroll, time and attendance, and human resources so we can communicate them to our audiences.

What you bring to the table:

  • 1 - 2 years of experience managing a team.
  • Demonstrable SEO insight and experience, including optimization and implementation.
  • You share the philosophy that content needs to provide value at every interaction and click.
  • You have a solid track record of creating engaging content to inform and convert.
  • Experience creating repeatable and measurable processes to manage campaigns, deliverables and people effectively.
  • Ability to solve problems using a high degree of EQ and an organized and logical approach to technical and people problems.
  • You understand the value of content partnerships and leveraging third-party audiences to extend the audience reach.
  • An ability to inherently connect and empathize with our target audiences. 
  • Strong communication skills — verbal, written and electronic.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize the needs of the team independently.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • A strong understanding of the marketing and business value behind the acronyms like CASL, PPC, CTR, CAC, UTM, LTV, MQL, SQL, etc… There will be a test!
  • A positive mindset and a desire to learn.
  • Grace under pressure and humour as your sword in the daily battle of “these things happen.”
